The coolest part about visiting the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is the flight simulator. Pretending to be an Air Combat pilot has never been easier! The simulator let’s you imagine what it would be like in a jet fighter, battling against enemies in the sky. It’s said that the simulator isn’t like a video game, but videos games these days are fairly realistic. All you need to know is that the simulator has the stamp of approval from real-world fighter pilots as being about as real as it gets without literally flying in the air. Sit in the cockpit facing a massive, flat screen projection set up to immerse your field of vision in the clouds. Don’t be nervous about the realness of this simulator either. The members and volunteers of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will train you before you step into the cockpit. You will feel confident in your simulated flying skills!

Flight simulation prices from $40 to $80 and the flight time is up to one hour with an additional 20 minutes scheduled for training. There are even different types of missions your can choose from. We know, this does sound quite similar to a video a game and really it is probably one of the early experiences we will have of what it is really like to play games in virtual reality.  The missions to choose from include: the basics, air-to-ground attack, pilot essentials and strike fighter missions. Come and try out the simulator for yourself to see what each mission is all about! It’s the perfect activity for a birthday party or other social event because it will keep everyone entertained, even when they are just watching someone else fly. The simulator can hold up to 4 people at a time, so plan your party numbers accordingly.
